Data collected · How listings are sourced
A dental emergency is severe pain, swelling, bleeding or a knocked-out tooth that cannot wait. For a knocked-out adult tooth, keep it moist and seek dental care immediately. In Singapore, CHAS clinics subsidise consultation from $13.50 and the CHAS clinic dataset lists out-of-hours dental providers.
All figures on this page trace to MOH's published fee benchmarks and the CHAS subsidy schedule. Find clinics offering this treatment, cross-checked against the Singapore Dental Council register, on the region and planning-area pages linked from the homepage.

What the emergency dentist guides cover
What Counts as a Dental Emergency? Triage Guide Before You Go
A dental emergency is a problem that risks permanent tooth loss, uncontrolled bleeding, or a spreading infection that threatens breathing or swallowing — these need care within minutes to hours. Less urgent problems, such as a painless chip or a mild ache, can wait for a routine appointment. This guide sorts common presentations into red, amber and green triage categories.
Covers: Red Flags: Go Now · Amber: Book Within 24 Hours · Green: Can Wait for a Routine Slot · First Aid for Each Case

Frequently asked questions
- What should I do with a knocked-out tooth?
- For a knocked-out adult tooth, keep it moist and seek dental care immediately.
- Is emergency dental consultation subsidised in Singapore?
- CHAS clinics subsidise consultation from $13.50, and the CHAS clinic dataset lists out-of-hours dental providers.
- How long do I have to save a knocked-out permanent tooth?
- Reaching care within the first 30 to 60 minutes gives the tooth the greatest chance of successful reimplantation, according to NHS guidance and the IADT's 2020 avulsion guideline. Handle the tooth by the crown only, and keep it moist in milk, saliva or saline if it cannot be reinserted immediately.
- Does a toothache always mean I have a dental abscess?
- No. Toothache has several possible causes, including tooth decay, a cracked tooth, gum inflammation, a failing filling and sinus pressure, and a dental abscess is only one of them. Persistent or worsening pain needs a dentist's examination to identify the actual cause.
- Is facial swelling from a tooth infection always an emergency?
- Facial swelling spreading toward the eye or into the neck, or swelling accompanied by difficulty breathing, swallowing or speaking, is a true emergency needing same-day emergency care or a hospital emergency department. Localised swelling around one tooth, without those signs, still needs prompt dental treatment but is not automatically an emergency-department situation.
- Can a chipped tooth wait until my next routine dental visit?
- A minor chip with no pain and no sharp edge can usually wait for a routine appointment. A chip that causes pain or sensitivity, or exposes pink or bleeding tissue, should be seen within 24 hours rather than left.
- What should I do if a dental injury won't stop bleeding?
- Bite down on a clean piece of gauze or cloth with firm, continuous pressure for 15 to 20 minutes and keep the head elevated. If bleeding has not stopped after that, go to a hospital emergency department rather than continuing to wait.
- How do I find a dentist in Singapore who mentions emergency dentist?
- 119 of the 719 clinics listed on dentistsg.com mention emergency dentist on their own website, most of them in Orchard, Bedok, Tampines. Pick a suburb below to see them with ratings, hours and contact details. A mention is the clinic's own statement, not a verified treatment menu.
- Does dentistsg.com list prices for emergency dentist?
- No. Cost ranges on this page come from MOH's published fee benchmarks and the CHAS subsidy schedule. dentistsg.com does not publish individual clinics' prices or compare clinics on price; ask the clinic for a written quote.
